A dashboard that tells you what is wrong and leaves you to it is not a service. Every week the lowest gate on your score gets fixed, and the score shows whether it worked.
About
The lab behind
the autopilot
SurgeLab is a London company that runs marketing for small and mid-sized businesses using its own AI agents. It was built one brand at a time, by working out what AI assistants get wrong about a business and fixing it, then doing the same for the next one. The customer approves. SurgeLab runs it.
What we believe
Three rules we do not bend
Nothing publishes without you. Approving takes ten minutes a fortnight. Everything else happens in the background, every day, without a meeting.
Every agent reports what changed and what it cost. Keep the ones that pay for themselves. Let the rest go. The same rule applies to us.
How the team works
One founder. A team of specialists. One manager in between.
SurgeLab is run the way it sells: AI specialists who each own one part of the work, a manager who reads all of it and picks what matters, and a founder who decides what good looks like. That is not a metaphor. It is the org chart.
The founder
Who you are dealing with
James Birnbaum
Founder, SurgeLab
James spent more than twelve years in technology at some of the largest companies in the world, running partnerships with the likes of IBM, BT and Vodafone. He also works with a small number of companies directly, through SurgeLab's consultancy. He built SurgeLab after watching businesses he worked with lose customers to rivals in AI answers without ever knowing it happened.
The first version measured the problem. The customers said measuring was not enough. So SurgeLab learnt to fix it, and then to run the rest of the marketing too. He still reads every audit, decides what the team is aiming at, and takes the consultancy calls himself. Based in London, working with businesses everywhere.
Separate from the product
Some companies do not need the tool. They need the thinking.
We work directly with a small number of companies, building AI into the systems they already run. Banking, family offices and recruitment so far. This is not a subscription and it is not the tool.
